About IVF Treatment - IVF treatment in Cyprus

At Let Us Care Hospital, we provide the best IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) treatment and care in North Cyprus, Turkey. IVF is the most common treatment for infertility where an egg from the ovaries is combined with sperm from outside the body in vitro (lab). This process involves careful observation and allowing the sperm to fertilize the egg in a special laboratory. Fertilized eggs are planted in an incubator. One or two healthy embryos are selected and inserted into the woman's uterus. This IVF treatment process will induce pregnancy in women. After two weeks, the patient will take a pregnancy test. If the result is positive, she will be considered four weeks pregnant.

When Or Why is IVF Treatment is Performed?

People choose IVF for many reasons, including fertility problems or when a partner has an existing medical condition. Some people try IVF when other fertility methods have failed or if they are older than 35 (at Advanced Maternal Age). IVF is also a fertility option for couples or those who want to have a baby without a partner.

IVF is a treatment option if you or your partner have:

  • Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes
  • Unexplained infertility
  • Low sperm count or other sperm problems in male
  • Poor sperm quality
  • Endometriosis - a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other parts within your abdomen and pelvic area.
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or other ovarian conditions
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Any underlying problem with your uterus
  • The risk of passing any genetically inherited disease or disorder
  • Immunological problems

Treatment Options

IVF

With IVF treatment, a man’s sperm and the woman’s egg are combined and cultured outside the body in a laboratory, where fertilisation occurs. And then the developing embryo is implanted in the uterus about one week after ovulation.

Egg Donation

Egg donation or oocyte donation is the procedure for a couple’s infertility when the female lacks eggs, there is an option for couples to use a donor egg. This can be done even if the ovaries stop producing eggs but the uterus retains its capability to carry a baby.

Sperm Donation

Sperm donation is the procedure opted for when the male lacks sperm cells in their semen or they are of poor quality. In such a medical condition, Sperm donation is an option for them. It is also done to prevent any chances of disease inheritance in the child. The donor sperm samples are tested for infectious diseases like HIV, Hepatitis B, C etc.

Embryo Donation

This is the treatment option for couples who have both male and female factor infertility. When the female doesn't produce eggs and the male doesn't produce sperm, then one can find a sperm donor and an oocyte donor and transfer the resulting embryo to the recipient’s uterus.

Needle-Free (NF) IVF

NF or Needle-Free IVF is our more natural fertility treatment that gently stimulates the ovaries into producing multiple egg follicles without any needle procedures through oral and nasal fertility medications. This revolutionary procedure also uses vaginal suppositories to gently induce egg production. It is friendly for people who fear needles, have PCOS and want more natural and holistic fertility treatment options.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is performed as part of IVF treatment. It is the process where a tiny needle, called a micropipette, is used to inject a single sperm into the centre of the egg. This procedure can create an embryo (fertilized egg). It is an effective treatment for men with infertility that affects a person's ability to conceive a child.

Embryo Cryopreservation (Embryo Freezing)

Embryo Cryopreservation (Embryo Freezing) is an assisted reproduction technique that preserves fertilized eggs and can help people achieve pregnancy at a later time. This option is suitable for parents who want to become a parent at a later time. Factors such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, increasing age, or risk of injury (due to a medical condition or military deployment, for example) are reasons why people often consider Embryo Cryopreservation.

Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS)

A couple who undergoes fertility treatment such as In vitro fertilisation may be advised by the doctor to have their embryos undergo genetic testing before they are implanted in the uterus. PGD and PGS are the processes of gender diagnosis and screening. Embryos can be genetically tested before being transferred back to the mother.

Egg Cryopreservation (Egg Freezing)

Egg Cryopreservation (Egg Freezing) is the process where the Oocytes (eggs) that are retrieved from the patient’s ovaries can be frozen unfertilized and stored irrelevant to the maturation stage for later use. This treatment is suitable for women who’ve undergone chemotherapy or do not have a partner and want to delay motherhood or who want to preserve their eggs to get pregnant in the future.

Sperm Cryopreservation (Sperm Freezing)

If the male has undergone radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy, this can lead to infertility. Sperm Cryopreservation (Sperm Freezing) is the process of collecting, freezing and storing sperm for future procedures such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Unlike freezing embryos and eggs(oocytes), the survival rates of sperm after freezing are quite high.
